Biography
Joshua Ho uses the powerful medium of music to make the world a more beautiful palace to live in. He is an aspiring entrepreneur and artist on the trombone, and inspiresthe next generation of people to love music the same way he does. At 20 years of age, he won positions on the Houston Symphony and Abilene Philharmonic Orchestras sublists. He was also a fellow (academist) of the Waco Symphony Orchestra. He has also won awards such as first prize in the Berlin Classical Music Competition and the Invitation to Excellence award to study trombone at Baylor.

Over the course of his career, Joshua has had the pleasure of making music with numerous reputable artists, including Yuja Wang, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Charlie Vernon, Hans Graf, Carl St. Clair, and Mei-Ann Chen. Other career highlights include performing Brahms Symphony No. 2 with Brevard Music Center Orchestra and The Nutcracker with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. He would describe those experiences as being truly transformative and renewing to the soul.
He has also done numerous recording projects including his Schumann Three Romances video, as well as his participation in the recording of the album “Divine Mischief” with the Baylor Wind Ensemble, featuring Clarinet Soloist, Julian Bliss. He also was a part of recording Bruckner’s Psalm 146 with the Texas Music Festival Orchestra.
Joshua currently holds a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University, and is working on his masters degree at the New England Conservatory. During the summers, Joshua attended the Brevard Music Center, the Texas Music Festival, and the Masterworks Festival. His primary influences on his trombone playing and passion for music are Jesper Busk Sørensen, Nick Platoff, Joseph Alessi, and Brent Phillips. His high school achievements at Clements High School, in Sugar Land, include being a TMEA all state member, performing the concerto “Slide Ride” with his high school band, and winning the Sempre Fi award for his commitment to excellence.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys reading books and spending time with friends and family.
